Environmental Sustainability

Volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to enhance your University experience. It's a great way to make new friends and become part of the local community as well as developing new skills and experiences which will look great on your CV when you start job hunting.

There are a wide range of environmental opportunities to get involved with. Whatever your environmental passion, the University has something for you. These include projects on locally-sourced food, auditing and project assistants.

Auditor training

We are currently recruiting students to undertake environmental audits across the University. You will receive half a day’s training followed by an afternoon of auditing Green Impact teams on campus. The training you receive is approved by the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) for which you will receive a certificate and reference upon completion. Your time spent volunteering as a Green Impact auditor can also count towards your higher education achievement report (HEAR).

  • You will need to be free on either Wednesday 4 or Wednesday 11 October 2017.
  • To register for this opportunity please complete the application form in the downloads box on the right.
  • To find out more email es@manchester.ac.uk

Project assistant volunteering

If you are interested in longer term volunteering at the University you can become a Green Impact project assistant. Assistants work alongside a staff team to make environmental improvements on campus.

Volunteering opportunities are managed by the University’s Volunteering Team.
