10,000 Actions fund

The 10,000 Actions fund is intended to support activities that enhance environmental sustainability across the University. The total fund value is £10,000. Funding of up to £2,500 can be applied for although we anticipate the majority of applications/awards will be under £1,000.

We will not be running the fund for the 2019/20 academic year.

Previous successful applications include:
• Funding for sustainable lab equipment.
• Improvements to the living campus.
• Research into air pollution.
• Development of a toolkit to reduce the need for business air travel.

Other ideas could include
• Communications and promotional items.
• Displays.
• Equipment.
• Top-up fund to support the purchasing of energy efficient equipment.
• Monitoring to help measure progress towards/impact of sustainability initiatives.

10,000 Actions allows us to make a difference, individually and collectively, in tackling one of the world’s grandest challenges. If you apply for the 10,000 Actions Fund you can update your action plan to reflect this.

In 2016 we launched the 10,000 Actions Fund, £10,000 available to staff (up to a maximum of £2,500) for environmental sustainability projects. Applications for the next round of funding will be open from 21 February - 22 March 2019.
