The Environmental and Sustainability team all travel to work in a sustainable manner. Damian, and Simon cycle to work, Lucy takes the bus, Andrew and Trevor take the train and Alex walks!
Green Gown Awards
The Green Gown Awards recognise exceptional initiatives being taken by universities and colleges across the UK to become more sustainable. In the past the University of Manchester has achieved:
- 2011: shortlisted for Continuous Improvement: Institutional Change
- 2010: shortlisted for Carbon Reduction and Courses
- 2009: shortlisted for Sustainable Construction and Refurbishment
- 2007/08: won Residences and highly commended for Courses
